On impact, he falls into Purgatory, and is split into two distinct parts Bosch, an oil "demon" potentially representing the side of Nowak that drove him to end his life and the one with aspirations to Hieronymus, being invisible to most people as he technically represents Nowak's "mind". Despite not being technically dead yet, he has virtually zero chances of making it out. Driven to depression by his unrealistic aspirations and not being able to meet them, Nowak casts himself down an old stone quarry, shattering his skull on impact and nearly killing himself. The story, while vague most of the time, doesnt pull its punches when it needs to either express something or tell something to the player, Id never expect to get somewhat emotional playing a roguelike that takes place in purgatory about a quest to torture someone, but i did.The story starts with Zdzisław Nowak, a mildly known painter with deep aspirations to Hieronymus Bosch. The Sheer size that the cast of characters gets to from the midgame forward is so gigantic its impressive they made all of them stand out and have different playstyles. It just has that vibe that games like isaac or those newgrounds games have, enemies that are so grotesque yet tasteful, designs so disgusting yet cool to look at, it feels like a huge love letter to everything that inspired it while still being one of the best roguelikes i have ever played on its own merit, its a crazy feat. The style, The music(DYNAMIC music, that changes depending on what happens), The details to characters, the funny quick jokes and the battle system combined make a truly unique journeying through purgatory experience, One of the best roguelikes i think i have ever played, Pretty good game but sometimes the games difficulty can be a bit Brutal.Orchestra
